Lady Gaga unveils seven new ARTPOP tracks at iTunes Festival
-
Last night Lady Gaga debuted seven new tracks from her upcoming LP, ARTPOP, at London’s iTunes Festival.
Opening the show with the recently leaked ‘Aura’/‘Burqa’, Gaga also performed lead single ‘Applause’ and a rockier, more Karen O-esque version of ‘Swine’ – a live clip of which surfaced in a preview at the end of last week.
“When I was making ARTPOP, I was thinking about what I truly wanted”, she announced to Camden’s Roundhouse. “I wanted to set myself free from this box, this box they put you in in pop music… I want to live outside the box.”
Like 2011′s Born This Way, the album looks set to contain a range of styles, genres and influences. There are also collaborations - Too $hort and Twista joined her on stage for the hiphop-inspired ‘Jewels & Drugs’, a song that also features T.I.
“I made some music that’s a little bit different than I’ve made before”, she continued, “but I made it because I’m a fan. I’m a fan of all different kinds of music.”
ARTPOP is released 11 November. Watch footage of each new song below.
