Lady Gaga to perform David Bowie tribute at this year's Grammy Awards
Lady Gaga is set to perform an "experiential tribute" to David Bowie's life and works at this year's Grammy Awards.
The tribute will be headed up by musical director Nile Rodgers, who worked with Bowie on Let's Dance, one of the late legend's most successful records.
The Grammys' executive producer Ken Ehrlich says in a press release: "We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She's perfect for it. So I reached out to Nile and, before long, we were on our way to creating what we believe will not only make a great Grammy moment, but one befitting of David."
According to the same press release, Gaga was already confirmed as a performer prior to Bowie's death last month. We're told to expect "a chance to experience Bowie's music once again", and that "the tribute will be a multisensory testament to the icon's incredible artistry and a reflection of his limitless creativity".
Lionel Richie, Ellie Goulding, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Little Big Town will also perform at the ceremony.
Check out the nominations for this year's awards.
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on 15 February at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
The UK's BRIT Awards are also set to pay tribute to Bowie this month, although the exact performers are yet to be confirmed.
