Lady Gaga reveals new single 'Applause' and Pierrot-inspired artwork

The ever-theatrical Lady Gaga has unveiled details of her upcoming single, the first to be lifted from her new album ARTPOP.
‘Applause’ will be released in advance of the LP on 19 August, coming along with a cover depicting Gaga as Pierrot, the stock jester character from Italian theatre.
ARTPOP itself will drop on 11 November, following on from 2011′s Born This Way.
