Lady Gaga named 'most powerful musician' as women dominate Forbes 2013 list
Despite having not released an album for two years, pop method-actor Lady Gaga has been named the “most powerful musician in the world” by Forbes Magazine‘s annual list.
Gaga had to cut her Born This Way world tour when she suffered a hip injury last year, but it’s this ability to keep sales high against adversity that makes the compilers feel the singer warrants the top spot.
Elsewhere, women largely dominate the top 10 – with Beyonce, Madonna and Taylor Swift completing the top 4, before Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Katy Perry appear further down the list.
Bon Jovi just about beats Justin Bieber to fifth spot, the latter coming one place beneath. Coldplay, on the other hand, come in at ninth position.
