Kwes has announced new six-track EP Songs For Midi and unveiled lead single "Midori".
The EP follows 2014 remix collection ilpix and 2013 album ilp. Although the London producer hasn't released much under his own moniker over the past half decade, he's been busy behind the scenes working with artists such as Solange, Loyle Carner, Kelela, NAO, Bobby Womack, and All We Are.
Songs For Midi is described as an "ode to his two-year-old niece Midi"; it's centred around childhood discovery and wonder.
The artwork for Songs For Midi has been designed by Midi. The producer's eight-year-old nephew has also written a letter about the EP - you can read it below.
Tracklist:
- Midori
- Trike
- Ungry/Milk
- 99flake
- Hometime
- Blox/Connor
Songs For Midi is out 6 April via Warp.
