Kurt Dahle, a founding member of the Canadian indie-rock troupe, also of Limblifter and Age Of Electric, has decided to part ways with the group.
Writing on Facebook, the rest of the band were reticent but supportive:
"Kurt Dahle is leaving the New Pornographers. It has been a great 15 years playing with an amazing drummer, singer and performer. We wish him the best.
"Everything is still full steam ahead with the band and we look forward to continued rocking and singing of songs."
Watch the video for one of the band's latest singles, "War On The East Coast".
The band released their latest album, Brill Bruisers, 26 August on Matador.
