Kris Kross' Chris Kelly died of drug overdose, report confirms
Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly, one half of 90s rap duo Kris Kross, passed away as the result of a drug overdose – a medical examination reveals.
The former child star died at the young age of 34 on 1 May. Kelly, pictured above left, was declared deceased at a hospital in Atlanta after being found unresponsive at his home.
Now, the cause of death has been confirmed as drug-related, say the Associated Press. The press release reads:
“A toxicology screening revealed that Kelly, 34, had a mixture of drugs in his system when he was pronounced dead on May 1, said Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office in Atlanta.”
Kris Kross reunited earlier this year for So So Def Recordings’s 20th Anniversary concert. They are best known for their hit single, ‘Jump’.
