Electronic pioneers, Kraftwerk have been prevented from performing in China due to their previous involvement in a pro-Tibet concert 15 years ago.
The Chinese Ministry of Culture have denied the German group the applicable visas to visit and work in the country based on the Tibetan Freedom Concert in Washington, DC back in 1998, which Kraftwerk were scheduled to appear at but never actually played due to bad weather on the day of the event.
AFP report that the official word given by the Chinese government is the vague-worded ”political reasons”.
