Kllo preview new album with third single "Somehow"
Melbourne duo Kllo are back with new single "Somehow" - a third glimpse of their forthcoming album Maybe We Could.
"Somehow" lands after previous outings "Insomnia" and "Still Here", and arrives with a video featuring footage shot in Moscow during their 2019 world tour.
Kllo say of their new track, ""Somehow" is one of the dancier tracks on the album and one of the more difficult ones to finish. This song is probably the closest to "Virtue" both musically and the way in which it unfolded. It went through many different incarnations before arriving at its final state. Although gruelling at times, we consider this process to be a positive thing. The harder songs to finish are usually the ones people connect with most. It's just a matter of simplifying the ideas once we've over worked them."
Kllo's Maybe We Could album will be their first since 2017's Backwater.
"In the past, we’ve tried to speed things up and push away from that," explains the duo's Chloe Kaul. "But now we’re sitting where it feels comfortable to us. Comfortable but also daring, because we know it’s not as polished in certain ways. We’re doing us, we’re doing Kllo. We’re a bit older now. We aren’t compromising as much on this album. It's a little bit classier and more tasteful this time around."
