Klaxons' James Righton announces debut EP as Shock Machine
Former Klaxons frontman James Righton has announced his first EP and single as Shock Machine.
Righton has recorded the Open Up The Sky EP with James Ford (Foals, Haim, Florence and The Machine) in the South of France.
The first song from the EP, "Shock Machine", comes with a gorgeous video created by artist/film maker Saam Farahmand. Speaking about the clip, Farahmand says: “The video is a direct symbol of spiritual transition, and the influence of (late artist) Angus Fairhurst’s absent human cut-outs. Transition is synonymous with James and Shock Machine. Everything felt right when we were shooting it.”
The visuals were shot on the Californian coast in 2015 with Star Wars cinematographer Dan Mindel.
The Open Up The Sky EP is out via Marathon Artists/House Anxiety, and features art from Rob Carmichael (Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors).
