Klaxons' James Righton announces debut album as Shock Machine
Former Klaxons keyboardist/vocalist James Righton has announced his self-titled debut record as Shock Machine.
He's also shared the video for lead single "Lost In The Mystery", directed by Nova Dando.
Righton launched his Shock Machine project earlier this year with his Open Up The Sky EP, a shimmering collection of polished pop shot through with psych weirdness. Righton describes his forthcoming LP as "Elton John’s Benny & The Jets on acid" - presumably we can expect some more of that gloriously off-the-wall pop goodness.
The album was recorded in the south of France with producer James Ford (Foals, Haim, Florence + The Machine) and mixer Ben H. Allen (Deerhunter, Animal Collective). Artwork is by Rob Carmichael (Dirty Projectors, Panda Bear).
