Legendary prog outfit, King Crimson are set to reform, with frontman and band leader Robert Fripp confirming the news online.

Posted to his official blog, Fripp recently revealed that “King Crimson is in motion. This is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers” – with the new line-up set to include Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, Jakko Jakszyk and, of course, Fripp.

The British musician has added that “it will take a year before Crimson is able to perform”, following on from their last shows back in 2009.

King Crimson’s last studio album was The Power to Believe back in 2003.
