Kim Gordon, J Mascis and Fred Armisen perform new song during benefit livestream
Last weekend Kim Gordon, J Mascis and Fred Armisen took part in the virtual Seattle Children’s Hospital benefit show SMooCH, and the three musicians seemed to debut a new song.
The annual Seattle Children's Hospital benefit show SMooCH took place last weekend (5 December), featuring performances from the likes of Benjamin Gibbard, Angel Olsen, Jason Isbell, Flight of the Conchords’ Bret McKenzie, Clipping and others.
In the first half of the benefit show, Kim Gordon, Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Fred Armisen joined forces (virtually) to perform what appeared to be a new track. As Stereogum points out, the track appears to be titled "Abstract Blues". Listen to the new song from the 6:57 mark.
In October Gordon released her new book No Icon, which landed just over a year after her debut solo album No Home Record.
Dinosaur Jr. are yet to follow up their 2016 album Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not. In September the band debuted new songs during some socially distanced shows.
