Kevin Morby covers Bill Fay's "I Hear You Calling"
Kevin Morby has unveiled his version of Bill Fay's "I Hear You Calling", which is part of a special 7" single cover series.
After Steve Gunn's version of Fay's "Dust Filled Room" was shared last month, Kevin Morby's cover of Fay's Time of the Last Persecution song "I Hear You Calling" has been released.
Speaking about Fay, Morby said, "Bill Fay exists as a secret handshake amongst us musicians. Those of us familiar with his body of work are obsessed with it. When I first heard him, years ago, I felt as if I was rediscovering something I had lost and had long been looking for. It’s an honour to be able to cover one of my favourite songs of his."
Morby's version of "I Hear You Calling" will be released with Gunn's cover in January alongside Still Some Light Part 1, a double compilation album featuring 70s album demos and 2009 home recordings.
