Kendrick Lamar wins big at the GRAMMY Awards; Taylor Swift takes aim at Kanye West in speech
Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift were the big winners last night at the 58th annual GRAMMY Awards.
Lamar took home five awards, with To Pimp A Butterfly claiming Best Rap Album, and "Alright" taking both Best Rap Performance and Song. He also won for collaborations "These Walls" and "Bad Blood".
Swift won the night's most coveted award - Best Album, for 1989 - while Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars got the Best Record for "Uptown Funk". Meghan Trainor beat Courtney Barnett to Best Newcomer.
During Swift's acceptance speech for Album Of The Year she unsubtly took aim at Kanye West, who has recently sparked controversy by - among other things - claiming that he got Swift to where she is today. She said in her speech: "I wanna say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame..."
The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, D'Angelo, and Skrillex x Diplo also won big in Los Angeles last night.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast tonight in the UK from 8pm on 4Music.
