Kendrick Lamar and N.E.R.D team up on new single "Don't Don't Do It!"
N.E.R.D have dropped "Don't Don't Do It!", another track from upcoming comeback record No_One Ever Really Dies.
The track, debuted on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show, features Kendrick Lamar and writing from Frank Ocean (he penned the intro). In an interview, Pharrell explains that it's inspired by Keith Lamont Scott, who was fatally shot by US police in 2016.
"She’s filming the entire thing on her camera phone," says Pharrell. "She is saying 'Don't do it, don't do it Keith, don't, don't do it...' she’s telling the authorities that her husband has a TBI, that’s a traumatic brain injury. They’re telling him to put his hands up or whatever and she knows, you can tell in her voice that she see what’s going to happen... and of course you know the way that turned out, he was killed."
Pharrell & Co. are following up Rihanna collab "Lemon" (one of our favourite songs of 2017) and "1000".
