Kelly Clarkson announces Kellyoke EP with cover of Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever"
Kelly Clarkson has announced her upcoming six-track Kellyoke EP, and has released her cover of Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" that she originally performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show in September 2021.
Every episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show begins with a popular Kellyoke segment, which sees Clarkson and her live band Y'all cover a song, and earlier today (25 May) she finally announced that a Kellyoke EP is on the way, featuring six of her favourite covers from the show.
As well as announcing Kellyoke, Clarkson has released her studio recording of Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever", which she originally performed on her show in September last year.
Clarkson's forthcoming EP will also feature her cover of Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees", and other covers of tracks by Whitney Houston, The Weeknd, Linda Ronstadt and more.
Billboard reports that Clarkson said of the EP, "Music is in the DNA of everything I do, so when The Kelly Clarkson Show started we knew it was the perfect way to kick off every episode. Over 500 songs later, and we’re still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute to. Picking just six was near-impossible, but these songs have been some of my favourites. Thanks for singing along with me y’all!"
