Kele Okereke streams new track "Coasting"
Bloc Party singer/guitarist Kele Okereke has revealed the second track from his upcoming second solo LP, Trick.
Though still evidently inspired by dance with the reliance on heavy, crumpled beats, there's a new vibe permeating. The chorus is a vast, glacial melee of falsetto and ambient pads, for example. It's more after-afterparty than dancefloor banger.
Speaking about the track on Facebook, Okereke explained, succinctly, the meaning behind the track:
"Coasting is one of the tracks I'm most proud of on the record. It's the story about the first moments of a relationship, when there is no pressure and no demands."
