Katy Perry unveils emoticon video for new single 'Roar'
Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ howled a few days shy of its official release date when it was leaked online this past weekend, however the accompanying emoticon lyric video has been released on schedule and features very little of the California Gurl.
The video to the first track of Perry’s upcoming album Prism features the popstar using her phone immediately after waking up to text friends. The virtual conversations between her and her friends can be seen in consistently throughout video and are made up of the lyrics to the song.
Perry texts from her bed, bathroom, gym and car throughout the video and creatively uses emoji-style icons to create riddles.
You can only assume that the star was trying to address society’s addiction to technology. Or maybe it was just meant to be a fun clip. Decide for yourself and check it out below.
Prism is set to drop in October and ‘Roar’ is available to buy on iTunes from today.
