Katy Perry makes comeback with huge disco single "Chained To The Rhythm"
Katy Perry is back with "Chained To The Rhythm", a new single written with Sia, produced by Max Martin, and featuring Skip Marley.
Ali Payami helped co-produced the track, which was co-written by Perry, Sia (who contributes a few vocals too), Marley, and Payami, reports Billboard. The new track comes with a very cute lyric video featuring a hungry hamster and tiny food.
Frederik Heyman has designed the artwork (top of the page).
Perry's return has been rumoured for a while now, but it quickly became clear this week that there was substance to the hearsay - especially when glitzy disco balls piping out the new track were chained to locations in big cities. Her label have confirmed she'll give the track a live debut during her Grammys performance this weekend (12 February), with Marley rumoured to be joining her.
Perry's previous album Prism arrived in 2013 - so by the time her next record is out, we'll have had "Roar" and "Dark Horse" rattling around our heads for four years. Sure, we had Olympics anthem "Rise" and that Christmassy thingy in 2015, but nothing proper for almost half a decade.
