Katy B details new project Honey, reveals lead cut produced by Kaytranada
Katy B has announced a new project called Honey, featuring 13 new collaborations.
B has revealed the title track, which is produced by Kaytranada. It follows Four Tet and Floating Points collaboration "Calm Down".
Other collaborators include Sasha Keable, Craig David, Major Lazer, Hannah Wants, Novelist, D Double E, and J Hus.
Honey is described as a love letter to "the global club underground". Speaking about the project, B says:
“I always love performing at places like Warehouse Project or Fabric and I wanted to have new songs that I could perform at that sort of gig. Just a few things to remind people what I was about... this project means a lot to me because I got to work with so many artists that I respect so highly. Writing it was so natural and I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it.”
As well as the new release, B is hosting a launch party at London's XOYO tomorrow night (29 January), with Bok Bok, Ms Dynamite, Josey Rebelle, Spoony, Mr.Mitch, JD. Reid, The Heavytrackerz, Hannah Wants, Yasmin, and more set to perform.
B is also confirmed to play her biggest London show to date on 14 May at Brixton Academy.
Honey is out 29 April on Rinse/Virgin EMI.
