Kate Bush praises Theresa May: "I actually really like her and think she’s wonderful..."
Kate Bush has opened up about her admiration for UK Prime Minister Theresa May in a rare, new interview.
May, a Conservative, took the reigns from David Cameron after the former PM was defeated in his bid to keep the UK in the European Union.
Speaking to Canadian current affairs publication Maclean's, Bush spoke at length about creativity, as well as her collaborations with Prince, her Before The Dawn live spectacular, "gender equality, the environment, and the moving power of art."
"We have a female prime minister here in the UK. I actually really like her and think she’s wonderful," Bush says in response to a question about women in power. "I think it’s the best thing that’s happened to us in a long time. She’s a very intelligent woman but I don’t see much to fear. I will say it is great to have a woman in charge of the country. She’s very sensible and I think that’s a good thing at this point in time."
In other recent interviews with The FADER and BBC Radio 6 Music Bush has paid tribute to David Bowie and Prince.
