Karen O says she's "ready to make some music" with Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Karen O has spoken about a potential development with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, revealing she's "ready to make some music".
It's already been three years since Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their last single "Shake It", and two years since they released a cover of Big Star’s "Thirteen".
In a new interview with Double J, Karen O has spoken about the band potentially making new music after being confirmed for Splendour in the Grass 2020,
When asked if Yeah Yeah Yeahs will have new music ready for their Splendour in the Grass performance, Karen O replies, "I do not know the answer to that question. All I can say is that I feel ready to make some music. That's pretty much all I could say to that."
She adds, "It feels like time to have something new out there. But that's yet to happen, so we'll see how this year goes."
Yeah Yeah Yeahs went on a hiatus after their last album - 2013's Mosquito - and returned in 2017 to release a deluxe, remastered edition of their debut album Fever To Tell.
Karen O hasn't been completely quiet since 2017 - last year she teamed up with Danger Mouse to release their collaborative album Lux Prima.
