Following his recent Grammy nomination, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O has decided to continue the solo streak by announcing her debut lone effort.
Signing to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records, Crush Songs will be released on 9 September.
“When I was 27 I crushed a lot” Karen says of the lo-fi record, which dates back to 2006/2007. “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
