Kanye West wanted to sell Yeezus tour merch at Gap, settles for PacSun
It’s hardly a secret that Kanye West wishes to conquer the fashion world as much as the music one, and now it’s emerged that he originally wanted his controversial designs for his Yeezus tour merch to go on sale at Gap.
Yes, West has revealed that he approached the family-friendly clothing retailers to sell his collection, which includes grim reapers in Confederate flags. Speaking to San Francisco’s 99.7 FM recently, the rapper revealed: ”I went to the Gap and I said, ‘Let me try to do something,’ and I couldn’t get past the politics… Our first night we sold $83,000 in tour merch. Imagine if you take these thoughts and connect it with a corporation like the Gap.”
Instead, however, selected items have gone on sale at Pacific Sunwear. PacSun announced the deal via Twitter. You can check out the designs below, and find out more info on the PacSun website.
