Kanye West sued for samples used in 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
Kanye West is currently being sued for alleged unauthorised use of samples in his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
The Chicago rapper sampled parts of ‘Hook and Sling, Part 1′ by New Orleans musician Eddie Bo in his songs ‘Lost In The World’, which also features and samples Bon Iver, and ‘Who Will Survive In America’ – which largely revolves around a Gil Scott Heron live recording.
The lawsuit is being filed by the late singer’s record label TufAmerica, who were originally paid $62,500 but say Roc-A-Fella and Universal ”failed and refused to enter into written license agreements that accounted for their multiple other uses of .”
