Kanye West producer Mike Dean confirms 'Watch The Throne' sequel
Coming to the end of work on the new Kanye West album, rap producer Mike Dean has spoken in interview of a possible sequel to Kanye and Jay-Z’s collaborative release Watch The Throne.
The record in question came out last year and a second instalment has been rumoured ever since.
Speaking to Huffpost Live, Dean confirmed that there will “eventually” be a follow-up, they just haven’t “got around to working on it yet”. ”We’ve been talking about it though,” he continued. “I actually just talked to Jay-Z about it last week.”
Dean also went on to discuss West’s role on his new LP. Having previously been more hands-on when it comes to production, where Kanye first cut his teeth in the hip-hop world, Dean now describes the rapper as more of a “couch producer”.
“We have a dozen people working with us in the studio, we all do quality control. It’s the most intense production project you’ll ever see… It’s so many A-List people who would never work together unless Kanye put them together.”
Yeezus is out next week, dropping on 18 June. Watch the full Huffpost interview beneath:
