Kanye West planning unisex high-fashion clothing line
After recently selling plain white t-shirts for a hefty $120, rapper Kanye West is now prepping a follow-up to his high-end runway eponymous label.
West has already showcased two womens fashion collections in recent years, the first faring terribly with critics, the second doing a little better. But now with his APC mens collaborative range selling out, it seems Yeezy wants to combine the two.
A source recently revealed the news to New York Post, who write:
“The “Yeezus” rapper — who received mixed reviews from fashion critics for his past two collections of women’s threads — is now prepping a unisex collection of about 100 pieces, we hear, to be revealed during the fall fashion shows. We’re further told West is again being advised by a team of top designers from hip brands, including his pal Nicola Formichetti of Diesel.”
This is what they had to say about the APC collection too, turns out the French boss Jean Touitou wasn’t the biggest Kanye fan ever…
“West also recently collaborated on a line of hoodies, jeans and T-shirts with French line A.P.C. that sold out after going on sale this week. The brand’s founder, Jean Touitou, told Style.com of working with West: “When you deal with a guy who wants to redesign just about anything so it could fit ‘kingdom of dopeness,’ it takes some time to just . . . say, ‘OK, agreed, but let’s get started on something limited, and we’ll see.’”
Earlier today, an alleged tape record of Kanye West ranting about Taylor Swift after the infamous MTV VMA incident leaked online. You can listen to that here.
