Kanye West may release second instalment of Yeezus
Kanye West’s recent album Yeezus, despite its brilliance in bursts, has been called everything from chaotic, brash and unbalanced. It’s also been deemed a little on the short side. It’s now been revealed that this could be for good reason, as Yeezy might be prepping a second part to the release.
Def Jam founder and uber-producer Rick Rubin, who was called in last minute to help pierce together the LP, has told The Daily Beast that “maybe” what we’ve heard is just “the first half”.
“Initially, he thought there were going to be 16 songs on the album,” Rubin said of Yeezus. “But that first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half.’”
When pressed on whether the second half of leftover tracks could surface, Rubin said “might be”.
Yeezus debuted at number 1 in both the UK and U.S last month.
