Kanye West sets up education plan for George Floyd's daughter as part of $2million donation
Kanye West has made a $2million donation to help families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and among that is the college tuition fees for Floyd's daughter Gianna.
Billboard reports that his $2million donation will cover legal costs for the families of Arbery and Taylor. The deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd have sparked protests across the US and the world.
Multiple reports also note that West's donation also includes a 529 education investment plan for George Floyd's six-year-old daughter Gianna to help her with schooling and tuition fees in the future.
Forbes reports that West has also made contributions to multiple organisations in Chicago helping to support the issues being protested, and Metro notes that ye's team has confirmed he's also donated to various black businesses in the city to help keep them afloat during the pandemic.
The other officers involved in the murder of George Floyd are facing charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder, and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter. Derek Chauvin, the officer that had his knee on Floyd's neck, has had his charge updated to second-degree murder.
