Kanye West openly discusses self-confidence struggle and Trump support in new interview
Kanye West has opened up about his Trump support, his long journey out of his dark spell of bipolar and screaming in his living room in an eye-opening interview.
Rapper Kanye West has had a rollercoaster ride of emotions and trauma as he reveals in an interview with The New York Times the extent of his downward spiral that resulted in his nine-day stay at U.C.L.A Medical Center.
To regain his self-confidence, the interview reveals Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian West had staged some sort of intervention, and one day the rapper found motivational speaker Tony Robbins waiting for him, "I was so self-conscious about the nanny and the housekeeper that I didn’t want them to hear me screaming in the living room,” Kanye explained.
Having spent a large portion of his time since 2016 in Wyoming, Kanye West explained to The New York Times that him and his family "came here for healing". He also proudly explained that he's "learning how to not be on meds".
Most of the material the rapper has dropped - both collaborative and solo - over the past month was at least partially developed in Wyoming, including his eighth solo album ye.
When asked if he would ever contemplate suicide after "I Thought About Killing You" appeared on ye, West openly replied, "Oh yeah, I’ve thought about killing myself all the time. It’s always a option. Like Louis CK said: I flip through the manual. I weigh all the options."
In the eye-opening interview, Kanye also reveals that despite his public support for President Trump, he doesn't "agree with all of his policies", and that his slavery comments were misconstrued, "it’s literally like I feel like I’m in court having to justify a robbery that I didn’t actually commit."
