Kanye West and Chick-fil-A partner with LA Dream Center to serve over 300,000 meals during pandemic
Kanye West and fast food chain Chick-fil-A have teamed up with LA Dream Center to provide over 300,000 meals to vulnerable people and children during the coronavirus pandemic.
ye and Chick-Fil-A go hand in hand after the Yeezy artist rapped about the fast food outlet in his 2019 track "Closed On Sunday", "Closed on Sunday, you're my Chick-fil-A / Closed on Sunday, you my Chick-fil-A / Hold the selfies, put the 'Gram away."
Now Kanye West has teamed up with the fast food chain to provide meals to vulnerable people during the pandemic, and they're being distributed by LA Dream Center, a nonprofit Christian organisation.
Fox News reports that they've been distributing approximately 11,000 meals a day since March.
Dream Center co-founder Matthew Barnett said, "Every morning I wake up and stand in the parking lot with our dedicated staff, I am blown away that day after day, week after week, there is enough food to provide to folks that need it."
He added, "The Los Angeles Dream Center has transformed into the Grand Central Station of food distribution and other basic essentials. I’m so grateful that our team has stayed healthy, and that we’ve found a safe way to meet the urgent needs within our community. I can’t say thank you enough to the various donors who’ve made this a reality. This is what a neighborhood, a community, and a church should always look like."
