Kacy Hill signs to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music
Kacy Hill, a synth-pop newcomer and former model, has signed to Kanye West's label G.O.O.D. Music.
The 20-year-old Phoenix native only released her debut song in September. We featured that song, "Experience", with our own Maya Hambro saying:
"Ironically, given the title, “Experience” is amongst the first songs Hill has written, yet it’s undercut with a confidence and purity that’s more suggestive of a well versed producer than an artist still firmly in her salad days. Her vocals are light and nimble, pitched in a register so high it feels almost immaterial. She weaves it expertly around a track that is, essentially, one very long and intricate bassline, cut into manageable bites by a punchy dub beat that allows her to sit on the intricate, delicate side of electronica – the kind of thing that’ll appeal to fans of James Blake and Jamie xx but still leave RnB heads reeling... while it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is about “Experience” that makes it so extraordinarily appealing, I sense that’s precisely the factor that’ll make Hill’s progression so exciting to watch."
There's little information about Hill's future, or in fact any of the deal's particulars other than the fact she is now officially on the roster of G.O.O.D. Music.
