Justin Timberlake breaks records with new album, almost sells 1 million copies
Justin Timberlake’s new album The 20/20 Experience predictably has made it to top spot in the U.S, just like it did in the UK, but in doing so has broken a few records and racked up some major feats.
The comeback LP sold 968,000 copies in all, just short of the 1 million that would have earned it platinum status in its first week. As well as this, it’s also the fast-selling album of the year so far and the biggest unit-shifter in one week since Taylor Swift’s Red.
More over, the record also set an iTunes record for the fastest-selling album worldwide, as well as being the third biggest-selling debut for a male artist ever, behind Usher in 2004 and Garth Brooks in 1998.
And JT may be able to break his own records later this year, as he’s expected to drop a second volume to the release.
