Justin Bieber's comeback single "What Do You Mean?" is not what we expected at all
Justin Bieber's had a rough couple of years, and it's admirable that he's wanted to get himself back on the right track.
This past month has seen a celeb-studded, fame-encrusted marketing campaign for the comeback, which you can check out on Instagram.
He's laid low for a few months, or at least low-er, and stopped pissing on pictures of Presidents, probably, and been hard at work on a proper reinvention with Skrillex and other big name dance producers. Now while fondly derided by many, Bieber's set to turn heads. "What Do You Mean?" is his new single and it's actually pretty great.
Pan-pipe synths, chilled-out house beats, and tick-tock rhythms pockmark the cut, with Bieber's R&B coo splattered over the top. If this was released three months ago there's little doubt it'd be the Song Of The Summer - it's a euphoric, slick piece of electro-pop with some genuinely interesting elements. The trajectory of Bieber just got a helluva lot more interesting.
You can check out the lyrics over on Bieber's website.
