Justin Bieber collaborates with NHS choir on new version of "Holy" for charity
Justin Bieber has teamed up with the NHS choir for a charity version of his "Holy" track.
Bieber originally released "Holy" in September as a collaboration with Chance The Rapper, and this Friday (18 December) Bieber will drop a charity version of his song featuring additional vocals from the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir.
The collaboration comes after the NHS choir and Bieber were battling for the UK Christmas number one five years ago with the release of Bieber's "Love Yourself" track and the NHS choir's "A Bridge Over You" song. Bieber ended up backing "A Bridge Over You", allowing the NHS choir to claim the top spot.
The updated version of "Holy" landing on Friday (18 December) will see proceeds split between NHS Charities Together and the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity. The NHS choir recorded their contribution at London's Abbey Road Studios.
Bieber said, "It's great to be reunited with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir, as we share a fun bit of UK chart history together."
He added, "Especially in these difficult times, I’m humbled to team up with them for a charity single that will benefit NHS workers on the frontlines of this pandemic and pay tribute to their unbelievable dedication."
NME reports that NHS choir leader Caroline Smith said, "Justin Bieber helped make our dreams come true in 2015 and he’s doing the same this year; we really can’t thank him enough for the chance to work with him on this wonderful, uplifting song."
