Justin Bieber cleared of alleged Hollywood hit and run
The inexplicably famous Justin Bieber has been cleared by Los Angeles police after being filmed knocking down a paparazzo in his white Ferrari on Monday night.
The Canadian popstar – bedevilled of late by altercations with paparazzi outside London hotels and run-ins with Stockholm police – was leaving the Laugh Factory comedy club in Hollywood at 11:45 PM (PDT) in his Ferrari when he drove into a photographer, apparently pinning him to a nearby parked car. Bieber then left the scene undeterred.
Video footage of the incident was released by gossip sites TMZ and Entertainmentwise, and the former has since gone on to report that police have cleared Bieber of any wrongdoing. Clemency comes as a result of the photographer’s being at fault: he was identified as “a pedestrian in the roadway.” In the video footage, attending security appear to usher paparazzi away from the car and into the road.
Bieber claimed not to have seen the man, whose injuries were not serious. USA Today, in its report on the story, states that a photographer was killed in a road accident in early January, crossing a busy street after taking pictures of the same Ferrari, though the singer was not in it at the time.
