Just what are The Avalanches up to?
The Avalanches have updated all their social media accounts and website, adding the image above - but what does it mean?
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more are all now adorned with a mysterious golden butterfly stitched onto black fabric, but there's nothing else to go on at this stage.
Dan Condon, the music editor at Double J, has pointed out that The Avalanches' social media revamp has taken place the day before Aussie fest Splendour In The Grass reveals its lineup.
The Australian electro wizards have been pretty tight-lipped for years, but a follow up to lauded 2000 debut Since I Left You is an exciting, if not a bit far-fetched, prospect.
Maybe we're all clutching at straws for the umpteenth time. Maybe there is actually, finally, something stirring in Camp Avalanches. After all, back in February they Tweeted about being "in the studio", rather flippantly:
Listening to @thevandykeparks Discover America and Song Cycle back to back in the studio this morning. Were so inspiring when making SILY.
