Julien Baker, Faye Webster and more contribute to new benefit compilation Through the Soil II
Julien Baker, Faye Webster and many more have contributed to the Through the Soil II benefit album, which will see 100% of proceeds donated to The Trevor Project.
Following the release of the first Through the Soil benefit compilation in April 2021, a second volume has been released, featuring 37 tracks by the likes of Julien Baker, Faye Webster, Squirrel Flower, Ian Sweet, Friendship, Lala Lala and Tomberlin, and many more.
100% of proceeds (aside from Bandcamp's processing fees) will be donnated to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to suicide prevention efforts with LGBTQ+ youth.
Pitchfork reports that Dummy’s Joe Trainor said of the compilation, "It was important to take part in a project like Through the Soil II that is supporting something like Trevor Project because everything right now is so fragile. There is a near constant effort to take away the rights of LGBTQ+ people, along with women and POC. To not be a political band in 2022 is beyond us."
Lala Lala added, "“It’s special to be able to support organisations I care about, like the Trevor Project, through my art. Young queer people need and deserve protection and the Trevor Project helps provide that."
