Julia Garner reportedly offered lead role in Madonna biopic
Ozark and Inventing Anna's Julia Garner has reportedly been offered the role of Madonna in the upcoming biopic about the star.
Following reports back in March that Julia Garner and Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney had auditioned to play Madonna in the upcoming biopic directed by Madonna, Variety reports that Garner has been offered the lead role.
According to a source, Garner has been considered a frontrunner for the lead part out of a dozen candidates, and another source reportedly said Garner's team is expected to accept the offer.
Back in 2020 Madonna started teasing her upcoming biopic, which she will direct. The biopic is set to be produced by Amy Pascal (Little Women, The Post, Spider-Man: Homecoming), and she's been co-writing the script with Diablo Cody.
In October last year Madonna revealed the biopic script was "almost finished", and in February she spoke about the auditions, calling it a "surreal experience".
