Jorja Smith, Laura Mvula and Mahalia among performers for 2022 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony
The line-up for tonight's (8 August) closing ceremony for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has been announced, and will feature performances from Jorja Smith, Laura Mvula, Mahalia and more.
This evening (8 August) the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will come to an end, and a variety of artists from the West Midlands have been announced for the closing ceremony.
Jorja Smith, Laura Mvula, Mahalia, Jaykae, Goldie, Ash, Jacob Banks, Goldie, Beverley Knight, UB40 and more are on the line-up for the event, which starts at 8:30pm BST, and will be hosted at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.

A press release states that the closing ceremony will include a sequence from the Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby theatre show, and Laura Mvula will perform a song commissioned for the event that's inspired by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds' "Red Right Hand", which is the theme song from the Peaky Blinders series.
The ceremony will also feature a "formal handover to the state of Victoria, Australia," who will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
