Jon Hopkins, Flying Lotus, Kaytranada and more added to Radio 1's Residency
BBC Radio 1's new list of Residency names has been announced, with Flying Lotus, Jon Hopkins and XL's Kaytranada leading the pack.
FlyLo and Kaytranada will host together, as will Jon Hopkins x George FitzGerald, Skream x Hannah Wants and Heidi x Solomun.
Speaking about his new placement, Lotus said: “I still can’t believe this is about to happen... it’ll be a pleasure to invade the UK airwaves for the months ahead.”
Montreal's Kaytranada also expressed excitement: “During my high school days, I used to listen to my favourite DJs mixes on BBC and now, here I am. Damn. I’m going to play the best music for y’all.”
Outgoing names include James Blake and SOHN, who've both proffered fascinating aural titbits and offloaded some impressive rarities during their time with the station.
The whole shebang starts 8 January, and will continue to air on Thursday nights from 10pm - 1am
