John Carpenter to perform soundtracks live for the first time ever at ATP Iceland 2016
American cinema legend John Carpenter is set to perform his soundtracks live for the first time ever at ATP Iceland 2016.
Horror maestro Carpenter is set to perform a musical retrospective, his debut studio record Lost Themes, and new works.
The festival is held in Ásbrú, a former NATO base in Keflavík, on 1-3 July 2016. Grab tickets from here.
ATP’s Barry Hogan says of the coup: “We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary film-maker and composer. Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and film-makers that we work with. You'd be fucking crazy to miss this.”
Carpenter is perhaps best known for classic films like Halloween, Escape From New York, Assault On Precinct 13, Dark Star, The Fog, and Big Trouble In Little China.
ATP 2.0, curated by Stewart Lee, will take place between 15-17 April 2016 at Pontins in Prestatyn, North Wales.
