Johanna Samuels unveils cover of Bill Callahan's "Too Many Birds"
Johanna Samuels has unveiled a tender cover of Bill Callahan's "Too Many Birds".
"Too Many Birds" originally appeared on Bill Callahan's 2009 album Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle.
Johanna Samuels has shared a new cover of the 2009 track, which is produced by Harrison Whitford, who co-wrote songs for Phoebe Bridgers' debut album Stranger In The Alps.
Speaking about the cover, Samuels says, "Harry and I had been wanting to record more together. We were playing around, him playing guitar and me singing and ended up falling into this Bill Callahan song that we both loved and decided to go for it. It felt a bit daunting because the best person to deliver a Callahan song is undeniably Bill, but we decided to try and have fun with the recording process without expectations."
Both Samuels and Whitford play a show for Best Fit on 28 August at London's The Waiting Room. Find out more. Whitford will also play End Of The Road festival on 29 August.
