Jlin has announced a new EP titled Embryo, and has unveiled the title-track as the first taster.
"Embryo" is Jlin's first new material since 2018's Autobiography (Music from Wayne McGregor's Autobiography), and is accompanied by news of Jlin's upcoming EP, also titled Embryo.
Pitchfork reports that Jlin wrote "Embryo" for Third Coast Percussion, who are due to share their own version of the composition in 2022.
Speaking about the EP, Jlin said, "I was just writing trying to get out of my own head. I wrote all these pieces in between commissions and trying to stay afloat mentally."
Jlin is reportedly working on her follow-up to 2017's Black Origami album.
Tracklist:
- Embryo
- Auto Pilot
- Connect the Dots
- Rabbit Hole
"Embryo" is out now. Jlin's Embryo EP will arrive 10 December via Planet Mu.
