Jeremy Corbyn is going to introduce Run The Jewels at Glastonbury
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn MP (MC?) will be appearing at Glastonbury Festival later this month to introduce Run The Jewels.
Run The Jewels are no stranger to being introduced by veteran left wingers - at last year's Coachella, Killer Mike's pal Bernie Sanders stepped up. Now Corbyn looks to serve as a temporary hypeman (kinda/not really/we totally wish) before El-P and Killer Mike take to the stage at 16:15pm on Saturday.
Corbyn was booked for last year's event but was forced to cancel as it was during the EU Referendum campaigning.
"We’re Corbyn fans, that’s the thing," Emily Eavis told The Guardian at the festival site earlier this week. "He’s got something new and precious, and people are excited about it. He really is the hero of the hour."
"Social justice and elevating the status of working-class people, that’s all an important exercise," adds father and fellow organiser Michael Eavis. "Education, hospitals, social care - these are all huge issues that can’t be swept under the carpet. The Tories have ignored them, and the Labour party as well - the Blairites. It’s all changed now."
