Jens Lekman has debuted three brand-new tracks at a session for NPR in the City Reliquary in Brooklyn, NYC.
The Swedish artist announced earlier this year he was "99% done" with his next record - which is expected in 2017 - and tells NPR about how its shaping up between performances. "The album is finished, it's all done... it's starting to take shape..." he says, noting that "it's more optomistic and upbeat than I thought it was, it's songs that are making people laugh and making me happy!"
The three songs he plays are called “To Know Your Mission”, “Hotwire The Ferris Wheel”, and “Wedding In Finistère”. During the session he says that the songs are likely to change a lot before they appear on the new record.
Lekman's last studio full-length was 2012's I Know What Love Isn't, but earlier this year he completed his ambitious Postcard project.
