Jens Lekman covers Boyz II Men at End of the Road
Swedish indie-pop maestro Jens Lekman brought the bittersweet party anthems to End of Road Festival not once, but twice last night, after making a surprise late night appearance at the Tipi Tent.
Following a barnstorming full-band set on the Garden Stage, culminating in a rapturously received cover of Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" (see what he did there?), the captivating Gothenburg songwriter treated the midnight crowd to an acoustic whistlestop tour through his back catalogue.
As his bandmates grooved at the side of the stage, Lekman showcased tracks from his latest release "Life Will See You Now" as well as old favourites including "Your Arms Around Me", and by the time he closed with "The Opposite of Hallelujah", it's doubtful there were many in the room unconverted to the Church of Jens.
