Jeff Lynne scores three entries in UK Albums Chart
Adele was beaten to the number one spot in the UK Singles Chart, as Jeff Lynne enters the Albums Chart three times this week.
Following on from a BBC4 documentary this week, Lynne’s new solo album, Long Wave, entered the charts at no.7, while two Best Of releases by his group Electric Light Orchestra also featured in the top ten.
Meanwhile, Adele’s new single ‘Skyfall’ carried on the pattern of Bond themes failing to reach the top-spot, as the singer was pipped at the post by Swedish House Mafia.
Mumford & Sons topped the albums chart this week with latest release Babel, while Ellie Goulding and Muse occupy second and third place respectively.
