Jay-Z plotting surprise concert in New York's Times Square
With his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail coming on 4 July, hip-hop titan Jay-Z is reportedly planning a special album launch concert in his hometown of New York’s iconic Time Square.
The New York Post say that the Brooklyn rapper will perform from the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater between 53rd and 54th Street.
“If he gets permission from the mayor’s office, it’s going to be off the hook,” a source told the Post. “They’ll have to shut down Broadway around the Letterman building. They’ll have to have a strong police presence. It’s going to be chaos with so many fans.”
Meanwhile, Jay-Z recently revealed that his new album will feature both Nirvana and R.E.M lyrics.
